Every woman wants to be stylish and feel good about herself whatever her shape or size. Well here are a few tips on how you can change your life by simply changing your style.
1.      Make a shopping plan! Don’t go unprepared! If you are going shopping for a new outfit or just to simply update your wardrobe, plan in advance at the type of women’s clothing you are looking for, don’t leave it to chance!
2.      If shopping, don’t just buy something for the sake of it, buy something that really makes you smile and can be an essential part of your wardrobe.
3.      Don’t think that you have to follow exactly what the fashionistas say, or what is big on the catwalks. Forget that. Just look at what you think would be stylish on you, rather than what it looks like on the model on the catwalk. What might look good on them may not look good on you and it’s you that has to wear it!
4.      Stop hoarding your old clothes, be ruthless- throw out anything that doesn’t give you the desire to wear it and feel great. Bin it to make room for more pieces that could life you and make you feel good about yourself.
5.      Make sure you have some classics in your wardrobe; you never tire of a little black dress.
6.      Know what your body shape is, don’t be in denial, shop for things that will flatter your figure rather than make you look like you have squeezed into it and are now unable to breathe!
7.      Don’t focus on the negative, concentrate on the positive. Choose clothes that will extenuate your good features and play down those you aren’t that fond of.
8.      Every woman needs a good selection of bags and accessories to compliment every item, if you don’t feel that great about your clothes, glam it up with a beautiful bag or pair of shoes, it can completely transform an outfit.
9.      Always have a good coat!
10.  Enjoy what you have, not what you haven’t got, if you’re short of cash, play around with what you have to create new looks and new dimensions to clothes that have been sitting in your wardrobe for years.

As the New Year starts, we all tend to make a list of resolutions, most of which we stick to for a day and then forget all about. This year, why not make a resolution for your style. You’ll be surprised at the small differences you can make, which will do wonders for your confidence and help you feel organised for the year ahead.
The first thing you should do is have a good clear-out of your wardrobe. We tend to keep clothes in the hope that we will eventually fit into them, and needless to say, we never do. Get rid of clothes which don’t fit you; take them to a charity shop or give away to willing friends. You may even be able to swap the clothes for other pieces. If there are clothes which you don’t wear, or no longer like, then get rid of these too. Start with a fresh wardrobe, and you’ll feel a lot better and much more organised. Make sure you have some essential pieces of clothing in your wardrobe, which you can alternate to create different outfits. Some ideas include; a crisp white blouse, empire line dress, pair of everyday trousers, and of course, the little black dress or some day dresses.
Another resolution to make, is to stick to a clothing budget. It may seem like a boring resolution, but it will stop you from overspending on your style. Work out exactly what you can afford to spend each month on your fashion, and buy key pieces which you can wear for different occasions, and can adapt to make other outfits. You can even save up each month, and buy one expensive item every so often.
You should also think about a resolution to keep your finger on the pulse, and stay up-to-date with the latest styles and trends. You can do this by taking time out to read fashion blogs, or sign up to newsletters for fashion websites and retailers. Style magazines are another way which you can keep on top of the latest trends.
A resolution which will save you a lot of time (and money) is to ensure you always try on clothes before you purchase them. Obviously this is not possible if you buy them online but you can try them on in the comfort of your own home and return them if they don’t fit. All to often, we will buy clothes, discover that they don’t fit us, but then never bother to return them. It’s such a waste of money!
Another idea is to be more creative and experimental with your style. Rather than always playing it safe with your style, try out new trends, colours and create your own identity with your clothes. We can actually become bored with ourselves if we wear the same types of clothes all the time, so think outside the box and try a change of image. Learn the benefits of accessorising, as it can completely change your outfit, and make it suitable to wear for different occasions.
Everyone is unique and individual and the way that you dress should reflect this. Your style is completely personal to you and should not only compliment your body shape and colouring but also reflect your preference and personality. The world would be a very boring place if everyone dressed the same, your own style will make you different to everyone else and make you stand out from the crowd. Having your own style does not mean that you cannot follow fashions, it just means that you pick and choose the items that you love instead of following every single fashion regardless of whether it looks good on you. Your own style is some thing that you will look and feel great in. If you feel happy and confident in your clothes then you will automatically look gorgeous and stylish. But if you have got into something of a style rut and find yourself wearing the same boring and uninspiring clothes all of the time, perhaps you need to put a little effort onto developing your own style, it is really easy.
The first step is to find out the colours and styles that really suit you. You do this by reading books, magazines an watching television programmes about fashion and style. Once you have established the key shapes to buy for your body shape and the colourings to suit your hair colour and complexion then you will always be able to find an outfit that looks great on you. You can then use these shapes as a basis for all of your outfits.
Once you know what looks good on you, you can choose whatever you want to wear from the latest trends, classic pieces, vintage pieces or completely unique and individual clothes. You can begin to add some of your own personality by accessorising or wearing your clothes in your own unique way. Perhaps you like to clash bright colours or patterns or team neutral tailored jackets with some really fun accessories. What ever it is that you like wearing, you can put your own unique stamp on it.
You can look for inspiration on how to put together outfits in all sorts of places from magazines and celebrities, to street style and historical costume. It really is up to you how you interpret this inspiration and turn it into your own style. Think about how you will combine different shapes, colours and textures and how you will add interest to your outfits. Remember that sometimes less is more and you don’t need to add any fuss or accessories. On the other hand why not break all of the rules and add as many accessories as you can.
Pick out clothes that make you feel great and really compliment your personality. If you are bold and out going wear bold, bright prints. If you prefer to be a little more subtle perhaps opt for neutral colours and add just a pop of colour with a bright accessory or two. You can be stylish, fashionable and have your own unique style that others recognise and admire, just think about your wardrobe, plan a little and wear what feels good.
