White womens trousers are amongst the most versatile of summer clothes. They look fresh, bright, light weight and cool. They combine with so many colours and patterns for a fresh and summery looking outfit. They also look elegant and stunning with a suntan, they work well for both daytime and evening making the perfect piece of clothing to take on holiday.

As much as everyone loves a clean pair of white trousers, they can be a little tricky to wear. The first thing that you should check before buying or wearing a pair of white trousers is how see through they are. Try standing in different places and lights to make sure that they do not show your underwear. You should also always wear white or flesh coloured knickers when wearing white trousers as other colours may well be visible.

Another issue with white trousers is that they get dirty quite easily. In order to look good, white trousers must be perfectly clean and bright white. If yours do start to look a bit grey or off white, try bleaching them to make them pure white again.

Whilst white trousers go with a variety of different tops, picking the right shoes to go with them can be tricky. Avoid white shoes with white trousers at all costs as this looks too much. Instead consider sandals or heels in a tan leather or metallic colour. For the evening gold strappy sandals would look great.

Depending on your preference, you can choose from a variety of  different trousers including smart linen trousers, more casual and comfy drawstring trousers or cropped trousers for the really hot weather.

Here are some of our favourite looks with white trousers for the summer:
