Looking good is definitely not about money. Fashion can be expensive but style is not. It is not difficult to think of any number of people who clearly have plenty of money but are quite poor when it comes to style. In fact some times it is those who have more money who can dress in the worst clothes, perhaps because they believe that by just spending a lot of money on clothes you will look good. Looking good and stylish is about finding the right clothes for you and you definitely don’t have to spend lots of money to do that.

There are a number of factors to consider when deciding which clothes will look best on you:

Body Shape – no matter what your size, the key to flattering your body is picking clothes hat suit your body shape. This is all about making everything look in proportion. If your hips and thighs are large, you should choose clothes that disguise, hide, balance and minimise them such as a line skirts and boot cut trousers. If you have a large stomach, empire line dresses and tops are the perfect way to skim over your tummy.

Colouring - depending on your hair and eye colour and skin tone, you will have a range of different colours that will look amazing on you. Once you have worked out what these colours are, you will always  be able to find something to wear that makes you glow. Generally speaking, if you have a cool skin tone with undertones of blue, purple and pink, you will look best in clothes that are shades of  pink, purple and blue. If you have warm skin tones with undertones of yellow, brown and olive you will look best in browns, reds, yellows and oranges.

Life Style -  Your wardrobe should reflect your life style and you should spend most of your time in clothes that are suitable for the activities that you spend most of your time doing. For example, if you work full time, you will probably want to wear lots of trouser suits and skirt suits. If you go to parties ever day of the week, you will probably own lots of party dresses. If you spend lots of time walking  a dog in muddy fields, some smart but stylish casual wear is just what you need.

Personality -Looking good is also about feeling good and feeling good is all about feeling comfortable and confident in what you are wearing. If you wear clothes that reflect your personality, you are likely to feel more confident and comfortable. If you are out going and enjoy being the centre of attention, you may enjoy wearing bright and eye catching clothes. If you are quiet, you may prefer subtle classic clothes.

Whatever you decide to wear, you should always look for clothes that suit your budget but that also make you look and feel great. If you think carefully about which clothes look best on you regardless of fashion, you will always manage to look stylish.
