They are the ultimate comfort clothing – easy to sling on or throw off, and perfect for the changeable summer weather. But cardigans often get a bad reputation as being outdated or frumpy.
It doesn’t have to be the case for women’s clothing.
Long-gone are the Noel Coward-esque cardigans of the 20th Century. A good cardigan can now be as trendy and fashionable as a pricey handbag or pair of flashy shoes.
One of the main things to consider is the fit and length of a cardigan.
If you opt for something chunky or bulky, try matching it with a pair of jeans or trousers as you could exaggerate your figure if you mix it with a flowing skirt.
Alternatively, a light cardigan could add something feminine – but practical – if you’re opting for a dress, halterneck or maxi dress.
Length-wise, long cardigans can look alternative, arty and cool, but try to avoid anything too short as it could make your hips look big.

We all have days where we don’t feel comfortable in our clothes from a bit of extra weight, but there are clever dressing ways which allow you to dress slimmer.
Wearing one single colour from your head to your toe will make your silhouette appear slimmer as well as making you appear taller. Columns of colour are a classic way to look slimmer. Wearing different tones of the same colour for example a grey cardigan, grey jeans and ankle boots is especially effective as grey is a neutral tone.
Vertical prints are another way to make you look like you’re carrying less weight. Ditch any floral patterns and go for big vertical stripes or pinstripes. Horizontal stripes will obviously have the opposite effect to these should be avoided.
Make sure you don’t try and hide any fleshy bits under shapeless womens clothing. This will give the impression that there is more hidden that there actually is. Shop for clothes which skim the body, and you can look fabulous, even on an off day.

You’re so used to being cosy and warm in your winter coat and scarf that perhaps as the temperature rises, you feel clueless about women’s fashion and what to wear in the milder weather.
Let’s not get too carried away, it’s no heat wave, but the temperature is creeping up daily and some days only a jacket is needed for the outdoors.
We have all spent months in a cold frenzy and we are so used to our woolly jumpers and cardigans that the thought of peeling them away and shedding out ‘second skin’ can be quite daunting.
With no more flowing cardigans and over sized woolly jumpers to lovingly cover our lumps and bumps, spring wear can be very confusing.
Swap your bulky winter coat for a lighter fitted jacket or light weight fitted Mac, don’t ditch your winter warmer and reach for the vacuum packed bags just yet, as you never know when the temperature will unexpectedly drop back down and you may still need it.
Change your thick tights and ‘comfy’ trousers for some tailored, lighter weight trousers, if you feel comfortable, go for a more slim line trouser, chino’s are taking the high street by storm this season.
Swap your jumpers for flattering tops, flowing loose shirts and blouses are everywhere, these are great to cover up unflattering areas and you will still be right on trend.
For the days when you are still feeling the cold, throw on a cardigan in a lighter more ‘spring’ colour, not only will it get you out of the winter blues, but you will look ready to welcome to Spring weather.

Cerise Pink V Necked Cardigan With Capped Sleeves
The notion of having a large bust will seem like a dream for many women, but in fact it can cause a lot of physical and psychological problems for those who have them. They may gain a lot of unwanted attention from the opposite sex, and can also have a severe effect on the body, causing back problems, amongst others. Unless you are opting for cosmetic surgery, there are not many ways of making them smaller, but there are options to make them appear smaller than they are.
Firstly, you should make sure you wear a bra which fits properly. There are many ladies who wear ill-fitting bras, and for bigger busts, it can cause them to look even bigger. Most ladies clothing shops will offer bra fitting services, so you should go and get measured to ensure you are wearing the correct size. This will also help your bust to be supported, which is particularly important for those who are heavier on top. There are also options of minimiser bras, which help to create the appearance of a smaller bust.
To draw attention away from the bust, it is important not to wear clothes which are too tight, as these will only accentuate this area. Subsequently, it is also better to avoid clothing which is too baggy, as this will also make the area look larger. Always try tops on before buying them, to make sure you are wearing the correct size. The layering of clothing can also help, as a means of ‘strapping’ down the bust area, and giving it a smaller appearance.
When choosing styles of tops and jumpers, it is better to avoid high necks or turtle necks, which will draw attention to the area. Low scoop and deep v-neck styles are very flattering for bigger busts, and are styles to look out for in dresses too. If you still feel like you want some additional help in reducing your bust size, then a camisole top worn under your v-neck will help to achieve this. It is also best to stay clear of strapless tops and dresses, as they will cause attention to be focused on this area
With large busts, it is also better to avoid patterns and colours which will draw attention to the area. Keep your top half relatively plain, and wear patterns and brighter colours on your bottom half, as this will keep attention to this area. Dark colours, particularly black, worn on top will slim this area down, and give the appearance of a smaller bust. If you choose to wear stripes, then make sure they are vertical and not horizontal. Horizontal stripes will make any area looker bigger. If you wear a blouse, then opt for one which sits quite tight at the waist, but looser at the bust. When choosing a dress, you should be aware that empire line and wrap style dresses are the best options to flatter bigger busts.
To finish of your look, wear jewellery which doesn’t hang too long, as this will draw attention to the bust area.
Wrap up in style this winter with some gorgeous woollen outfits for all occasions.
Embrace the return of 50′s/70′s trends this season and invest in an irresistible cashmere jumper. Cashmere may seem like an expensive investment, but is guaranteed to last you for a long time. Team up your cashmere jumper with a figure fixing a line skirt or everyday trousers for the office. It will also look fabulous with glamorous jeans and heels, for a night out or party.
There are also lots of other styles of ladies knitwear, which will keep you looking trendy and fashionable, despite the miserable weather. Soft knit, cable knit, and roll neck styles are all trendy options at the moment, with plenty of patterns and colours to help you alternate your look, depending on the occasion. Knitted jumpers go particularly well with jeans, trousers and leggings.
Work clothes needn’t be dull and monotonous during the autumn and winter months. There are loads of simple, but stylish woollen dresses in all sorts of styles, including short/long sleeved and mini to long lengths. Choose a style to suit your body shape and an attention provoking colour or pattern. Reds, purples and stunning black shades will all keep you right on trend for the winter. Accessorise your dress with a waist belt to enhance your figure and knee or ankle boots to give your height a boost and elongate your legs. Woollen suits are also perfect for everyday office wear, with mini and below knee length skirt options.
Cable knit dresses and jumpers are other stylish outfits for the winter and are guaranteed to keep you well insulated during the cooler weather. Accessorise your outfit depending on the occasion, whether it be for the office, shopping or for special nights out.
The winter months are long and winding, so keep your wardrobe well stocked with knitted cardigans. Styles are plentiful, with ribbed, crochet, sequinned and knit waterfall designs, all wonderfully stylish this season. Lengths of knitted cardigans vary, with cropped and waist length options, as well as long line, if you prefer to cover up a bit more. Co-ordinate your cardigan with everyday trousers for the office, or a pair of tweed shorts, for the ultimate everyday outfit.
An alternative to the cardigan is the cape, which is a relatively new style and is a very stylish piece of ladies fashion for the season. Capes drape over your body, and are a good way of keeping you warm, without the need for a jacket or coat. There are lots of styles to choose from with capes, and the knitted varieties will keep you particularly glamorous and gorgeous.
Chunky knitwear outfits will keep you extra warm and cosy over the cold months, and are also very stylish this season. Knitted jackets, cardigans and jumpers, all come in chunky styles which will not only ensure you are well insulated, but are perfect for wearing when you are out shopping, or other everyday wear. Chunky knitwear is the ultimate winter warmer.
