For many years, green has been one of the least-favourite colours of the fashion world.

It has traditionally been the hardest colour to sell – but now bright green is lighting up the catwalks.

Don’t be scared of bright colours this summer – the prime minister’s wife has already led the way with a bright green dress at the Scottish fashion awards last week.

Green is all about daring to be different, and works particularly well against tanned skin tones – so it could be the perfect colour to perk up your post-holiday blues.

Dark green can look sapping, so make sure you mix it with a bit of sparkle to stop it seeming dreary, or mix your greens together – choose wisely, mind – to achieve a layered, textured look that’s bound to turn heads.

If you don’t fancy adopting green full-time, it’s still worth considering green for your occasional dresses, to make sure you’re setting the trends at any wedding or party this season.

Every woman has the right to bare arms.  Over the age of 50 however, it takes a little skill and sense of taste to ensure this looks elegant and age appropriate.

The hot summer weather is on it’s way, and with this comes the difficulty of baring skin to keep cool, without showing too much.  There are a few items which will prove invaluble for your Summer wardrobe and ensure you’re comfortable and looking fantastic in the sun this year.

Shrugs are a great way to cover the arms while staying cool.  Some styles tie at the front and are very flattering to an hourglass figure.

Pashminas offer another option, and can be thrown carelessly over shoulders as the evening draws in and gets cooler.  Some very pretty styles are avalible and pashminas with sequins or beads will add to the outfit.

Capped tee-shirts and dresses are perfect for covering the problem top areas of the arm, without covering up the entire arm.

Women who wish to slim their hips and show off an hourglass figure should invest in fantastic belts and make them a regular part of their outfit.

With so many styles available, from wide belts to be slung low over hips, disguising the tummy area, to skinny belts which can nip in any outfit at the waist and be worn over cardigans or jackets to add a fashionable twist.  They are a fashionable way to update your wardrobe and look without breaking the bank.

Belts are all too often forgotten as a vital fashion accessory but to take advantage of this trend be sure to think about how you can work belts  into the outfits already  in your wardrobe.

Now that the royal wedding has been and gone it’s time to start thinking about what’s coming up over the summer, and if you’re interested in sports you’ll be counting down the days until Wimbledon,

So what is a girl to wear, whether you are watching the matches at the local pub or going down to sit on Henman Hill, you will need to decide whether to follow suit and dress in white.

It’s not a colour for everyone and can sometimes be a little unflattering to the larger lady but getting in the mood by wearing something white should be tradition.

There are hundreds of outlets that will be stocking up on women’s clothing that resemble the crisp, white neat lines of the traditional Wimbledon attire so why not have a look to see what is on offer.

If you don’t fancy wearing white all over perhaps just opt for a little white hat and stick to what you know best elsewhere and leave the tennis whites to the professionals!

It was party central on Friday with many streets across the country holding parties to celebrate the wedding of Prince William and Kate, but what did people wear?

There have been numerous reports of people choosing themes for their parties but one which stood out to much of the media from around the world was one street who decided to wear 1950′s inspired evening dresses which added a certain amount of glamour to the occasion.

Up and down the country thousands of well-wishers put out tables and chairs to celebrate the wedding, which bought an element of pride to the country and was almost seen as a day where people could forget their differences and get along.

With people choosing to dress up for the occasion as well as dress down, the streets were a wash with colour and elegance, enough in-fact to rival any of the guests who received official invitations!

Well done UK!
