Whether you’ve got an hourglass figure, or you consider yourself to be pear shaped, every woman’s fashion dream is a pair of well-fitting jeans, according to Mintel.

Mintel, a consumer research analyst company, conducted a survey and found that a female shopper’s nightmare is finding a comfortable pair of jeans that fit-well. Whether the jeans are high-waisted, flared, boot cut, skinny, or straight legged, the majority of women can’t find a pair that fit in the right places.

The survey showed that 66 per cent of women found jeans the most problematic part of women’s clothing.

Most women were happy to spend over £100 on a pair of jeans that fit correctly, but even with such a large budget they still found jean shopping a problem.

Mintel spokesperson, Tamara Sender, said that jeans are a basic item in most women’s wardrobes, so it is unsurprising that are willing to search high and low for a comfortable and well-fitting pair.

According to buzzle.com, most of today’s fashion trends are not aimed at the older woman. In every woman is a little girl that wants to look her best, no matter what the age. Most women tend to believe that fashion is not meant for them, and they wear clothes that do not flatter their bodies bringing down their confidence.

Having a good sense of style is guaranteed to boost the confidence of every woman. There are many celebrities which still look fabulous despite their age, including Madonna and Tina Turner.

First of all you have to feel comfortable in your own skin. Clothes should always be selected which flatter your body type. Something which is tight-fitting will not achieve you that elegant look. Shop around for silhouettes and clean lines. Overlapping patterns without all the fuss and frills will help you look your best.

Plunging necklines and skimpy clothing should always be avoided. If you love wearing attractive styles, a long-fitted skirt with a slit up the side will draw attention for all the right reasons.

Bold and classic designs are timeless. Tiny prints and stripes are a safe option. Choose handbags in bright colours as a boring oversized bag will never flatter a woman’s personality.

Here are a few tips for women in their fifties wanting to look their best with some expert fashion tips.

Threads magazine believes that with a few subtle changes, you can make yourself stand out from the crowd.

One of their top tips is that less can sometimes be more.

Do away with the mass amounts of rings, bracelets and beads and focus on good quality pieces of jewellery that bring out the best in you and your outfit.

When picking out some new clothes for a new outfit, diagonal lines can get the most out of your outfit encouraging the â??eye[s] to move up and downâ? according to the magazine.

Fitting is also very important in bringing out the best of your figure, as such when you are looking for new ladies fashion tops you should try and find women’s clothing that is fitted to the shoulder line.

This in turn can be improved with your women’s clothing being measured down to around the just below waist or high hip length in order to show off your figure best.

Reinforcing this point you should look for clothes that are not too tight, but are the right fitting, to ensure that you are well fitted and looking to your max.

In order to look your best as you get older, there are some things that must be taken into consideration regarding your wardrobe. It is not true that women over the age of fifty no longer have to worry about the latest fashion trends. In today’s modern world, older women can look as fashionable and fabulous as their daughters, although the definition of fashion may be slightly different.

It is deemed not appropriate for women over 50 to wear the same clothes they used to wear in their twenties. They need to embrace the fact they are getting older and take pride in fashion as the art of staying stylish. Clothes should be selected which suit your age.

Skirts that are too short and tops that are too revealing should be avoided. A lengthy skirt with an elegant shirt top combined with accessories will look beautiful and give you that sleek edge.

Many women make the mistake of wearing slumber clothes that are well within their comfort zones. These loose baggy clothes actually make them look older than they actually are, rather than something which hugs their figure and suits their shape. A well fitted dress should also be comfortable. Choose colours which suit your complexion and enjoy the latest style trends with confidence.

This season, fashion has embraced all that is girlie and retro by binning the skin-tight dresses and merciless skinny jeans for 1970′s inspired floaty skirts, tops and every woman’s favourite jeans; the boot cut.

Floral blouses, wide-leg trousers and maxi-dresses all continue to flatter women and make them look feminine and relaxed. Bright, block colours are also a big trend this season with fiery reds, hot oranges and tropical greens and blues storming the catwalks. If loud colour sounds alarming to you, pure white is also another big colour trend, making reappearance as it does every spring/summer along with ever flattering nude tones. Jumpsuits have also made a return but with the more flattering palazzo pant and halter neck, harking back to Studio-54 glory days.

Shoes are also more forgiving this season, with block heels and wedges set to be the new way to dress your feet, sparing women the pain of the stiletto and the uncomfortable pointed toe of last season.

Accessories are simple and understated, with simple handbags and bangles taking centre stage. More catwalk trends than ever before have translated beautifully to everyday women, with comfort, femininity and elegance being key words to think of when looking for clothes, whether for work or play. If it is girlie, floaty, floral or colourful and in a soft, silky fabric then snap it up!
