When it comes to sorting out your wardrobe, it’s a good idea to have some classic pieces of clothing, which you can alternate for different occasions. They also have the benefit of staying timeless, so they never go out of fashion.

Jeans

A pair of jeans is an essential item for any ladies wardrobe, and you can dress them up or down, depending on where you are wearing them. Always make sure you have a pair of jeans which suit your body shape and you feel completely comfortable wearing. Blue and black are the classic colours for jeans, and will go with lots of different outfits. You can wear a pair of jeans with a drape or cowl top and pumps or ankle boots, for a stylish everyday outfit. If you are looking for an outfit for a special occasion or night out, a pair of jeans will go well with a ruffled or one shoulder top, and a pair of heels.

White Blouse

A crisp, white blouse is another essential piece of clothing for your wardrobe. You can wear this staple item with a pair of smart everyday trousers for a look for the office, or team it up with a pencil skirt and belt for a style to wear for after work drinks. A white blouse doesn’t need to be kept for everyday wear; you can also alternate it with a pair of leather trousers and heels for a night out.

Empire Line Dress

Empire Line Dresses have sustained trend for a number of seasons now, and are a great piece to keep in your wardrobe. You can wear an empire line dress for all different occasions by simply choosing costume jewellery to suit. Empire Line Dresses are flattering for almost any body shapes, due to their high waisted style, and the fact that they skim the hips.

Little Black Dress

No wardrobe can be complete without a little black dress. The LBD is an essential piece for all ladies, and is a classic outfit which will never go out of style. If you’re stuck for something to wear for a night out, you can always rely on your little black dress to save the day.

Fitted Blazer

A fitted blazer is another trend which will never go out of fashion, and it can really help make an outfit more stylish and smart. Fitted blazers can be worn with many styles, including jeans, trousers and a skirt. This piece of clothing can be worn as part of an everyday outfit, or for a night out. The classic colour is black, but you can find fitted blazers in many other colours.

Black Everyday Trousers

A classic pair of women’s trousers is a good piece of clothing to keep in your wardrobe. You can wear these for work, or dress them up with heels and appropriate costume jewellery, for a look outside the office. You should ensure your black everyday trousers are in a style to suit your body shape, and make you feel confident and comfortable.

When you go to a party or special occasion, it can often be difficult to know what to wear as a cover up. Most of the cardigans and jackets that you have will not be formal enough of will just not work with the line of your dress. An evening or party dress requires something a bit special to show it off to its full potential and compliment it with just the right amount of sparkle, detail or interest. It should not be covered up too much but needs a functional cover up that does not stop the skirt from hanging correctly.

A bolero is the name given to a short fitted jacket which usually has a curved edge on the fron to opening so that it can be elegantly left open to show the beauty of the dress. A bolero will work particularly well with an empire line evening dress as it mirrors the seam which falls just under the bust. It also looks good with column style dress as it helps to elongate the body by altering the proportions. It also works especially well for petites as it makes everything look in proportion.

For most people an evening cover up has two main functions. One is for those who don’t want to show off their arms, perhaps because they feel uncomfortable or the other to add a little bit of warmth. A boloro can transform an evening dress giving it a completely different look. Think how different a plain black strappy evening dress would look when a sequin bolero is added.

You can make your bolero a feature of the outfit by choosing one with embellishments or in a bright colour. This would usually work best with a quite plain evening dress. If you have an elaborate evening dress, it would probably be best to wear a fairly plain bolero so that it does not detract from the dress.

Long Sleeve Purple Sequin Bead Bolero

This beautiful bolero is embellished with large purple sequins and beads and would look great with just about any black evening dress or party dress. You could also try wearing it with jeans and a t shirt for a fashionable casual outfit for over Christmas.

Rose Detail Black Short Sleeved Bolero

This cropped style of bolero is another versatile evening cover up that will  work with a variety of cover ups. It has a  rose detail effect and texture which is a great way of adding interest in a subtle way to any evening outfit.

As you move between seasons you will often find that your wardrobe needs a little reorganisation, it is also a good time to have a clear out. A well organised wardrobe will not only make getting dressed in the morning much quicker and easier but it will also allow you to easily put together stylish and co ordinated outfits. Organising you wardrobe is a good way to familiarise yourself with what clothes you actually have (it can be easy to forget) and where the gaps in your wardrobe are. When you shop for new clothes following a wardrobe re organisation you can be more focused on what you actually need rather than just buying more of what you already have.

Create space in an over crowded wardrobe

An over crowded wardrobe can make it difficult to find clothes and also can crease, flatten or damage your clothes. Clearing  little space will allow your clothes to hang properly keeping them in better condition. The first way that you can make some space is by identifying any clothes that don’t fit you or you no longer wear. Be ruthless, if you haven’t worn them in the last year are you really going to wear them again. You could also find some sort of alternative storage for summer clothes or clothes that you want to keep.

Organise your clothes in a way that suits you

Find a way to organise your clothes that suits you and makes your life easier. You could put all trousers, skirts and tops together. Others may prefer to organise their clothes by colour or occasion e.g work, parties, casual. You could also find a way of organising accessories like scarves, jewellery and belts which makes them easy to see and find. Coats hooks on the inside of your wardrobe are a good way of doing this.

Protect and care for your clothes

To prolong the life of your clothes and ensure that they always look great you should protect and care for them. For a particularly elaborate or delicate piece of clothing you can by covers. Cedar wood balls are a good way to keep moths at bay and delicate or woollen items should be folded to avoid stretching. Good quality coat hangers are also better for your clothes.

Identify what you need

Once you have organised your wardrobe, you should be able to get a much better idea of which pieces of clothing you will need for the winter. Think about how much of your time you spend on different activities, ideally your wardrobe should have roughly the same  balance. There is no point in having a wardrobe full of evening dresses if you only go to one party a year. You should invest in some more casual clothes so that your wardrobe really works for you. When you buy new clothes try and buy pieces that work with your existing wardrobe. For winter you will also probably want warm clothes that are suitable for layering to allow maximum versatility from outfits.

Jeans are a staple item for everyone’s wardrobe, and chances are you’ll be the owner of more than one pair. Jeans can be worn for all manner of occasions, but choosing the perfect pair to suit your body shape, can sometimes prove difficult. There are lots of varieties to choose from including; skinny, boyfriend, flared, boot cut, high waisted and low waisted, and finding the right pair can really flatter your figure. The same rules also apply to most everyday women’s trousers which make a great alternative to jeans.

Tall and Slim

If you are lucky enough to have a tall and slim body shape, then skinny jeans are a good choice for you. Skinny jeans cling tightly to the body, so these will show off your legs and accentuate your small frame. These styles of jeans can be worn with a pair of ankle boots for an everyday look, or heels for a night out or special occasion. Low waisted styles of jeans will also suit this body shape.

Pear Shaped

Boot-cut jeans can be very flattering for ladies who carry more weight on their bottom half. As they sit quite loosely, they will disguise bigger hips and bums, and make legs look leaner. A good choice if you want to deflect attention away from any of these areas, but still want to show off your curves. It is also best to wear your boot-cut jeans in darker colours, as this will also help take attention away from your bottom half, and up towards your smaller top half. High waisted jeans will also suit this type of body shape. Boot-cut jeans are best worn with a pair of boots, or heels, as these will make your legs appear slimmer, and give your height an extra boost.

Apple Shaped

Apple shaped ladies tend to be in proportion, but with a larger mid section, with an undefined waist area. Boot-cut jeans are ideal for this body shape as well, as they will help make your figure appear more proportionate. Jeans with a flat front are flattering for apple shaped bodies, as they will help make this area look slimmer. Back pockets with flaps, are also beneficial for apples, as they will make your bottom appear more voluptuous. Apple shapes can also wear skinny jeans, but it may be best to wear a longer top with these, such as a tunic top, as this will cover up your bigger midriff area.

Hourglass

Hourglass shaped ladies are curvaceous, with bigger hips, bums and bust, with a small and well-defined waist. Skinny jeans can work for this body shape, depending on how curvy you are, as they will cling to you and make the most of your figure. Boot-cut jeans will also work for this body shape, as they will accentuate your gorgeous curves, whilst taking attention away from your hips.

Full Figured

Ladies who are large all over, tend to believe they can’t wear jeans at all, but this is not true. The best jeans for this body shape is straight legged, as they won’t hug your curves too much, and will make your legs appear leaner. Flare style jeans can also work for those will a full figure.

Brown soft leather look jacket

This winter one of the most wanted items of clothing is the leather jacket. From aviator styles to biker styles and minimalistic styles there is a leather jacket to suit all tastes and for those that don’t want to wear leather there is also the leather look jacket which looks almost the same. The beauty of a leather jacket or leather look jacket is that it goes with almost anything from jeans to a party dress. They are also incredibly hard wearing an durable. So which style of leather or leather look jacket will you be wearing this winter?

The Aviator

Possibly one of the biggest trends of the year, the aviator jacket was seen at Burberry as well as countless other catwalks. The Burberry version has a huge collar and is lined with thick shearling for an incredibly warm jacket inspired by those worn by pilots during world war 2. On the high street there are a range of different versions of the aviator style, many with smaller and less exaggerated collars for a much more toned down and subtle but still very warm look. Dark brown is the most common colour for the aviator jacket making it the perfect cover up for the seasons must have camel clothes.

The biker

The biker jacket is almost always in black leather but recently there have been some other options around including  grey and red . The secret of wearing a biker jacket is for it not too look too new. In fact the more battered the better. The biker jacket can add a bit of rock chic to just about any outfit. Studs and tassels are both optional extras for a biker jacket depending on the look that you are trying to achieve. The biker jacket has become  a really classic piece of clothing that never really goes out of fashion, it has so much history and it just keeps on coming back year after year. It has become so immensely popular that recent seasons have even seen the biker style of jacket translating to softer jersey and fabric versions but none really match the leather or leather look jacket for durability and staying power.

The minimalist

The minimalist look is very much on trend at the moment. Clean lines with no fuss or detail rule and neutral shades are very popular. The key looking good in the minimalist trend is to keep it simple but very luxurious. A good quality soft leather jacket is probably one of the most luxurious pieces of clothing that you can get. A minimalist style will usually have no colour and no pockets, gathers or embellishment. Black, grey or camel colours all work particularly well with this style of leather jacket. Wear your minimalist leather jacket with a pair of tapered trousers or contrast with an elaborate party dress. A minimalist style of jacket is also great for showing off interesting outdoor accessories including snoods and scarves.
