Red ladies clothing for the festive season

There is now less than a month to go until Christmas and it is time to start getting a little festive. There is not colour more festive than red. It is also a great colour for the winter as it is warm, bright and cheery perfect for adding a little colour to those dark and cold winter days. There are plenty of ways that you can wear red from accessories that can be worn with neutral coloured outfits or a stunning red evening dress for a Christmas party.

There is also a whole host of different shades of red to suit a range of different colouring from deep berry reds to bright scarlets and blood red. The intensity of the red clothing that you wear will also depend on what colours you wear it with. Black will make the red look bolder and brighter. Combining it with camel or beige will make it look slightly more subtle. As a general rule you can find out which shade of red will suit you best by looking at your hair colour and skin tone. Those with dark hair and pale skin can wear the brightest and boldest of reds. Those with cool skin tones can choose the blue shades of red whilst those with warm skin tones will look good in orange and terrocotta shades.

Red is a very symbolic colour and can be powerful, sexy, romantic or chic. How your red looks will very much depend on the way that you style your outfit and exactly how you wear your pieces of red clothing. Red is also a great way to draw attention to the part of your body that you love. Try adding a red belt to a plain dress if you want to emphasise a very slim waist.
