Outfits for the Office Christmas Party
It may seem like a long time away, but the festive period will soon be upon us and this inevitably means the office Christmas party. You may have already arranged your office night out, and are probably hearing co-workers discussing which outfits they are thinking of wearing. Your colleagues are used to seeing you in work attire, so this is the time to really shine with your gorgeous Christmas outfit.
If you decide to wear a skirt, then make sure it is not too short or tight. No matter how well you get on with your workmates, you don’t want to be the talk of the office by revealing too much. Skirts just below the knee are always a good idea, and there are loads of styles which will look great and suit most shapes. Pencil skirts and a line styles are very trendy choices at the moment, but stick to neutral colours, nothing too bright or with outlandish patterns.
The same rule applies if you decide to opt for a dress for your office party. There are loads of gorgeous styles at the moment, whether it be one shoulder, ruffled or a prom/party dress. Keep the length in mind when you go shopping, and ensure you are not showing too much cleavage, or that the fabric doesn’t make it see-through. Maxi dresses are also very stylish this season, and as they just skim the floor, there will be no fears of revealing too much to your colleagues. They will also flatter any kind of body shape, as they won’t cling too much to the body.
If you are teaming up your skirt with a top or blouse, then make sure you co-ordinate the colours well together. Black and white will go well together, as will ivory and black. Again, you don’t want to reveal too much, so wear something which won’t result in any wardrobe malfunctions. Also, stay clear of tops with slogans off any kind, you don’t want to accidentally offend anyone at the party. Ruffled tops, one shoulder and tunic tops will all keep you on trend this season.
Trousers or jeans should suit your body shape, not too tight or too baggy. Most of all, make sure you feel comfortable enough in them, as you’re likely to be wearing them for a long period of time. If you decide to dress up your skirt with a pair of tights, then choose a patterned style, as this will make you look even more glamorous. Seamed tights are a subtle, but equally stylish choice.
To complete your gorgeous outfit, team it up with a pair of stylish high heels. Heels will not only add a touch of glamour but will also flatter and give extra length to your body. Colour co-ordinate your shoes with your outfit, and wear a sensible sized heel. The last thing you want is to end up face down on the dance floor.
Give your party outfit added glamour by wearing some fabulous jewellery. You probably keep it minimal and sensible at work, so dig out those items you keep for a special occasion. You want to look your best, and if you receive some compliments, then all the better.
